eCommerce Websites: Table Series

Well, I know this goes against what the site is all about, but i’m doing a “Table Series” this week. So all those great ecommerce sites (like Amazon and the Google Store) that are built on tables will have this week to shine. Even though these sites aren’t built with web standards, they easily could be. So this is more so to pull other ideas like Amazon’s personalized shopping, and the simplicity of the Google Store.

Yahoo Partners Up With... Google?

Yahoo is temporarily running some tests (no more than 3 percent of searches) using Google’s AdSense as the advertising platform. This does not mean that Yahoo will be permanently using AdSense, yet. They may be doing it to get that bid up and piss off Microsoft (who has been trying to acquire Yahoo), apparently that worked because Microsoft is trying to pull the “antitrust” card on them…and lets be real, that’s just ironic :).

Magento Production Version (1.0) Released!

This is great news for anyone into new eCommerce platforms, open source, or PHP. I happen to be into all 3 :). Definitely check out the demo store and the demo admin. Even if you’re not ready to commit to such a new system, it’s certainly something to keep an eye on.
The guys at Magento also redesigned their site to go with their release; I thought their last site looked great, but the new one is amazing. Awesome job Varien!
